Features

OpClear®

For the best surgical outcomes, laparoscopic surgery requires continuously clear vision throughout a procedure. Continuous clear vision reduces operating time, enhances productivity and reduces risk. The current method used by clinicians to remove the scope for cleaning is inefficient, wastes time, reduces productivity and increases risk.

OpClear® – Unique laparoscope lens cleaner

OpClear® is the only device that will clear a laparoscope lens of all fogging, soiling and fluid without removing the scope from the patient for cleaning. It removes both soiling on the lens and prevents lens fogging. Screen vision remains crisp and clear at all times. It is effective for all laparoscopic surgical specialities and for all procedures, whatever their length and complexity.

OpClear® – The only lens cleaning device you need

The use of OpClear® eradicates the need for other antifogging, warming and cleaning products such as scope warmers and FRED.

OpClear® – Easy to set up and use

The OpClear® control unit and sheath are easy to set up.

Position the control unit on or near the visualisation stack, connect it to a power supply and attach the gas hose provided to the theatre gas supply or gas bottle. Before use fill a small reservoir on the OpClear® disposable tube with 10ml of saline and attach the sheath to the laparoscope. Then attach OpClear® to the control unit.

OpClear® is easy to use. Simply introduce the laparoscope to the abdominal cavity in the normal way and see the difference. Fogging will disappear automatically and instantly. Any time that debris gets on the lens, whether blood, fluid, fat or smear, a tap of a footswitch will clean the lens without removing the laparoscope.

Testimonials

At the moment you need to see clearly, particularly when confronted with a difficult spurting vessel, vision becomes obscured by splatter and the scope has to be removed for cleaning. Meanwhile, the vessel continues to bleed. That’s frustrating and hazardous. OpClear allows vision to be maintained in situ and the problem dealt with quickly and safely.

Pulling the scope out is a real frustration and can put you in a really bad mood. Even more so when you get bleeding and the time taken to resolve bleeding.

I do a lot of Endometriosis procedures and the problem is the vapour deposits that cause a reduction in vision so I have the scope some distance from the tissue. With this system I could work closer to the tissue I’m working on.

UK Gynaecologist

I strive to get a continuous view during the procedure which is not always possible but a device that achieves this must be safer for the patient. I would highly recommend that this be used on all procedures and by all surgeons in the hospital and that it became a standard I would highly recommend that this be used on all procedures and by all surgeons in the hospital and that it became a standard in laparoscopic surgery.

On top of the comfort and time saving that the product brings I would like to add that for long and stressful procedures involving a risk of lens contamination from sudden bleeding, knowing that OpClear is ready to react effectively creates a safer environment for the patient: this qualitative aspect is of course difficult to quantify however remains crucial to me”.

Excellent instrument, saves time and prevents the removal of the scope. For this case specially, clamping time is critical and the instrument saved time which means less kidney ischemia. Very easy to install for nurse and Doctor.

Canadian Urologist

Without doubt it’s not an exaggeration to say the OpClear system as significantly improved my surgical field of view. No other system gives me the clarity of view that the OpClear offers. When I divide the uterine pedicle and there is a blood splatter or plumage impairing the view, with one press of the pedal and an activation of the wash cycle, I can see perfectly again. Essential if I am to minimise the risk of injury to the ureter which lies only 10mm away.
